What's New in 3-D Keyboard 3.02
3-D Keyboard 3.02 is a minor upgrade, adding one bug fix since version 3.01:
- Startup Problem Fixed. Version 3.01 would sometimes run only once after
installation, then fail to start after that. This has been fixed.
3-D Keyboard 3.01 is a minor upgrade, adding one bug fix since version 3.0:
- Registry Problem Fixed. A registry problem was fixed which sometimes caused
Windows to crash after purchasing and entering a password while running under Windows
95/98/Me.
3-D Keyboard 3.0 is a major upgrade, adding the following new features since version 2.52:
- Windows XP Compatibility. The program is now fully compatible with Windows XP.
- Word 2000/XP Compatibility. All features are now fully compatible with Word 2000 and XP,
including Third symbols, dead keys, etc.
- Fourth Symbols. You can now type up to four symbols with each key on your keyboard.
Previous versions were limited to only three symbols per key.
- Input Language Notification. Your applications are now informed of which language you are typing.
So when you select a Spanish layout, for example, your programs will know you are typing Spanish.
Programs such as Word 97/2000/XP use this information to determine how to sort, format dates, and
select the proper spell check dictionary.
- Euro Symbol. Full support has been added for the Euro currency symbol.
All default keyboard layouts now include the Euro.
- U.S. Enhanced Layout Improved. The U.S. Enhanced keyboard layout has been improved to take advantage
of the new fourth-symbol capability.
- New Keyboard Layouts. Eleven new default keyboard layouts have been added.
- New Hot Key Choices. Left Shift+Right Shift and Left Ctrl+Right Ctrl can now be assigned as hot keys
to any keyboard layout.
- Third Symbol Key Options. Under Windows NT, 2000, and XP, there are now six options for the Third Symbol Key
(Left Alt, Right Alt, Either Alt, Left Windows Key, Right Windows Key, Either Windows Key).
- Swap Caps Lock and Left Ctrl. Under Windows NT, 2000, and XP, you can now swap Caps Lock with the left Ctrl key.
- Caps Lock Behavior. You can now specify whether Caps Lock should affect all keys
(as it does in the standard French keyboard layout), or just the letter keys (as in most other keyboard layouts).
- Improved Network Support. You can now specify the location of the initialization file in several ways,
making it easy for all network users to share the same default preferences, or for multiple users on a single workstation to each have their own unique set of preferences.
- Better Support for Control Panel Keyboard Layouts. The Keyboard menu now lets you activate any
non-West European keyboard layouts you have loaded via Control Panel (e.g., Polish, Russian, Turkish, etc.).
You can also set hot keys for these keyboard layouts, and specify that one of them be activated automatically
whenever 3-D Keyboard starts.
- Auto-Start Option. The Startup Preferences dialog now allows you to specify whether 3-D Keyboard
should start automatically whenever Windows starts.
- Uninstall. An automated uninstall utility is included in case you wish to remove 3-D Keyboard from your computer.
Please note that some of these features are only relevant for certain versions of Windows,
with the most features available when running on Windows NT, 2000, or XP.
